The class X60 is a fast accelerating and decelerating modern commuter train for mass transit in the Stockholm's local traffic. The first batch of these trains started their revenue runs in 2007 and recently these 71 units have gotten company of the additional trains to fill the capacity needs on the extension north of Stockholm.

Easy recognition guide:
-> 6 module EMU with rounded pointed "Coradia" looking ends
-> SL logo in the fronts and on the sides

-> normally seen only in Stockholm area
-> In Sweden the harsh winter conditions add requirements for the trains
as they are often subjected to snow and ice building in their structure
during the winter months. The ice building is especially severe around
the bogies and brakes melt snow/ice while slowing and the water
freezes again while stopping at the stations.

First unit of the SL's large X60 flock is starting from the Stockholm central station. The long units are most of the time run in pairs like in this picture too.

The acceleration and decelerations capabilities of these early Coradia Nordic units are excellent.

Unit 20 of the X60 fleet is passing Hagalund yards north of Solna in Stockholm. To the right of the EMU are large maintenance and service areas for all operators rolling stock.
