Denmark has until now relied heavily on diesel locomotive traction. Many of the locomotives are formidable in shape and size, often equipped with EMD 567 or 645 prime movers. Others are small, a few almost hundred years old! Unusual is also, that often the diesel locomotives were also used to power passenger services.
